Product Description
EDJ Packaged Fire Pump System

EDJ Packaged Fire Pump System consists of a main electric pump (driven by electric motor), standby diesel pump (driven by diesel engine), and a multistage jockey pump. Pumps are assembled with both discharge and suction manifolds, wired to the control system and mounted on a common steel base. The product has a compact design and small footprint, saving space in the pump room. After simply connecting the water and power supplies on site, the unit is immediately operational. It can also be adapted according to on-site requirements.

Working Principle
Working Principle Diagram

Automatic Working Cycle:

  • Jockey Pump: Maintains pipeline pressure between set points P1 and P2. Starts automatically when pressure drops due to leakage.
  • Electric Pump: Starts automatically if the jockey pump cannot maintain pressure and it drops to P3. It serves as the main fire protection water supply.
  • Diesel Pump: Starts automatically if the electric supply fails or the electric pump fails to start (pressure drops to P4). Must be manually stopped after evaluation.

Working Conditions
Motor Operation
  • Altitude: ≤1000m
  • Ambient Temperature: +5℃ to +40℃
  • Relative Humidity: ≤90%
Diesel Engine Operation
  • Ambient Temperature: +5℃ to +40℃
  • Relative Humidity: ≤90%
  • Inclination: <10° during operation
  • Environment: Free from conductive dust and corrosive gases.

*Note: If altitude exceeds 1000m or temperatures exceed normal range, diesel engine power must be adjusted based on manufacturer correction factors.

Frequently Asked Questions
What components are included in the EDJ Packaged Fire Pump System?
The system includes a main electric fire pump, a standby diesel engine fire pump, a multistage jockey pump, discharge and suction manifolds, valves, sensors, and a control cabinet, all mounted on a common skid.
Is the system compliant with international fire safety standards?
Yes, the system is designed to comply with NFPA20 standards, covering performance points, flow capacity, and shut-off power requirements for reliable fire protection.
How does the automatic start-up sequence work?
The jockey pump maintains pressure first. If pressure drops significantly, the electric pump starts. If power fails or the electric pump cannot meet demand, the diesel pump starts automatically as a backup.
What are the installation requirements for this fire pump skid?
The skid is a "plug-and-play" unit. You only need to connect the main water inlet/outlet and the power supply. The compact design minimizes the required footprint in the pump room.
Can the system operate in high-altitude environments?
Yes, but if the altitude is above 1000 meters, the power output of the diesel engine must be corrected according to the manufacturer's specific data tables.
Does the system require manual intervention during a fire?
The pumps start automatically based on pressure signals. However, for safety and evaluation, the main electric or diesel pumps must be manually stopped by authorized personnel once the situation is under control.
