EDJ series is a packaged fire pump set, generally an automatic fire water supply system. It consists of a main pump (driven by an electrical motor), a stand-by pump (driven by a diesel engine), and a jockey pump. This model comes equipped with a separate controller, or one that is attached to the skid. The package also contains discharge valves, a common header, and essential accessories.
Working Principle
Generally, the pipeline network's pressure is maintained between low pressure P1 and high pressure P2. When pressure drops below P1, the jockey pump starts automatically until pressure reaches P2.
If water consumption increases significantly and pressure drops to P3, the electric main pump starts automatically. In case of power failure or electric pump failure, the pressure drops to P4, triggering the diesel pump set to start automatically to meet fire water supply needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What components are included in the EDJ fire pump set?
The EDJ series includes a main electric motor pump, a stand-by diesel engine pump, a jockey pump for pressure maintenance, a controller, discharge valves, and a common header.
How does the automatic backup system work?
If the main electric pump fails or if there is a power outage, the system detects a pressure drop to the ultimate level (P4), which automatically triggers the diesel engine pump to start.
Which international standards do these pumps comply with?
Our fire pump systems are designed and manufactured to meet UL, FM, NFPA20, CE, and ISO standards, ensuring high reliability for fire fighting applications.
What materials are used for the pump's construction?
The pump casing is made of high-quality Ductile Iron, and the impeller is made of Bronze to provide excellent durability and corrosion resistance.
What is the typical lead time for an order?
Generally, the production of a complete diesel engine pump set takes about 35 working days, while bare shaft pumps take approximately 25 working days.
Do you provide after-sales support?
Yes, we offer on-sales reporting with photos/videos of production, rigorous pre-delivery testing, and follow-up on working conditions every three months. Spare parts can be sent within 1-2 weeks.
